Yes. The Rec Room is happy to be part of the Cineplex family.
The Rec Room is an all ages space all day, everyday in Edmonton, until 10 PM in Calgary, and until 11 PM in Toronto, Mississauga, London, Barrie, Winnipeg and St. John's, after which Minors are not allowed. In Burnaby, guests must be 19+ years of age with valid government issued photo ID, minors are allowed if accompanied by their parent or legal guardian until 10pm. Please check the event listings for special and ticketed events as additional restrictions may apply.

You can now book your Kids and Teens birthday party online for select The Rec Room locations! Simply visit our party booking page, click ‘Book Your Party’, and follow the steps until you receive your confirmation. To secure your time and date, you’ll be required to place a non-refundable $50 deposit at the time of booking.
Please note, we’re currently rolling out online booking and it might not be available at all locations yet.
For venues without online booking, you can still reserve your party by emailing the venue directly. One of our team members from your chosen venue will be in touch to help you confirm your booking.
And finally, we recommend booking as early as possible to secure your preferred date and time – you can book your party online up to 60 days in advance.
We’ve got two birthday party packages to choose from here at The Rec Room — Kids and Teens. Each package includes a set of game credits, a meal option of your choice for every guest, and reserved table seating to make your celebration easy and enjoyable.

Yes! You can add available upgrades to your party package during the online booking process and you’re also able to order extra food from the menu at the venue on the day of your party. Options may vary by location, so be sure to check what’s available at your selected venue.
Birthday parties at The Rec Room require a minimum of 8 guests to confirm a booking.
Yes, you can select a combination of Kids and Teen meal options for your party booking, as long as the total equals the number of guests.
The Rec Room birthday party packages include food, and you can choose what options best suit your needs. You’re welcome to bring your own birthday cake or cupcakes, but please note that outside food beyond that isn’t permitted.
Before your party, you’ll receive a confirmation email after booking. This email will include a link to a food questionnaire that you’ll need to complete to finalize your menu selections. Additionally, one of our venue team members will reach out to you 7 days prior to your event to confirm all the details and your guest count, making sure everything is perfectly prepared for the big day.
You can book your party online up to 60 days in advance – we recommend booking as early as possible to secure your preferred date and time.
Yes, you can update guest count, menu choices, or add-ons up to 10 days before the event by contacting our team directly.
Yes, a $50 deposit is required to hold your birthday party reservation at The Rec Room.
The $50 deposit paid when booking your party online is non-refundable. If you need to cancel or make any changes to your booking, please contact the venue directly for assistance and have your party booking number ready – you can find the venue’s contact information in your confirmation email. For more details, please refer to our Terms and Conditions.
Please arrive at The Rec Room least 15 minutes early to check in and meet your party host.
You’re welcome to decorate your party table at The Rec Room as you please, decorations should be limited to anything that can be placed on your table.
All The Rec Room venues are accessibility friendly. However, we recommend contacting the venue directly after booking your party online to make sure they’re fully prepared to meet any specific accessibility needs you may have.

Yes, private and semi-private party areas are available for an additional cost. To request one, simply select the ‘Private Space’ option during your online party booking, and the venue team will contact you with availability, pricing, and setup details.
No they do not. You can continue to add to your points every visit and redeem them for a larger prize.
You can check your balance at any one of our locations!
Game Bands are non-refundable. Credits for games and points earned for the prize store will not expire. Game Bands can be used at any other The Rec Room locations. Remember to register your game band at a location, in case you misplace it.
Yes, an 18% gratuity is included in groups of 8 people or more.
Yes! The Rec Room accepts Cineplex Gift Cards.

No, The Rec Room Gift Cards are offered in Canadian funds only.
Scene+ points are not issued on the sales of Gift Cards but can be earned when making a purchase with a Gift Card.
No, Gift Cards do not expire.
Call 1-800-544-7573. When calling a PIN is not required. When checking your balance online you must enter your Gift Card number located on the back side of your card along with your PIN, found to the right of the Gift Card number. If you have not used your PIN number before, scratch your Gift Card to reveal the PIN.
There may be some The Rec Room Gift Cards that do not have a PIN. You can use these cards at any The Rec Room location. If you wish to purchase any products online, you must have a PIN and can call Guest Services at call 1-800-333-0061 to exchange your card.
Electronic Gift Cards (“E-Gift Cards”) work just like regular gift cards and may be used at any of The Rec Room locations and online through therecroom.com. An email containing the E-Gift card barcode and PIN will be sent to the recipient to begin redeeming.
You can print a black and white or colour copy of the E-Gift Card, or display a digital copy on any mobile device. A printed copy works exactly the same as a physical card.
All E-Gift Card orders will be delivered within minutes of the completed transaction. If your E-Gift Card is not received within 2 hours of your purchase, call 1-800-333-0061 or e-mail therecroom@buyatab.com. Be sure to check your “Junk Mail” folder.
If your gift card has been damaged, lost or stolen, please e-mail Guest Services guestservices@cineplex.com or call 1-800-333-0061.
If an E-Gift Card is lost or stolen, a replacement E-Gift Card will match the balance of your account at the time you reported your original card missing. The replacement E-Gift Card will be sent to you at no additional cost. E-mail Guest Services guestservices@cineplex.com or call 1-800-333-0061.
Yes! 1000 Scene+ points will get you a $10 gift card. Customers can choose the total number of points they wish to redeem use for the purchase of each gift card.
No. The Rec Room gift cards cannot be redeemed towards the purchase of another gift card.
Yes. The Rec Room Gift Cards are transferable and can be shared with family members, friends and others. Treat gift cards like cash.
Yes. Persons living outside of Canada can purchase and send E-Gift Cards to residents of Canada.
Yes, we do! The Rec Room offers 10% off Military discount for Active Duty, Retirees, and Veterans with up to three (3) guests. Discount is valid on all food, game tags, game credits, and attraction purchases, excluding alcohol, taxes, gratuities and the purchase of gift cards. Offer is eligible with valid Military ID only. Valid ID includes: Canadian Veterans Card (CVC), Record of Service Card (NDI75), Certificate of Service, RCMP – Retired Member Cards, Veterans Affairs Canada Health ID Card, Canadian Forces Appreciation Program Card, CFOne Card.
